10 January 2023 pfb72 - Gauteng Type of Resort: Family with children
If it wasn't for the weather (cloudy and rainy most days) this would have been the best family vacation ever. The byroads to the resort was in not that bad of a shape with the occasional pothole here and there, roads within the resort was clearly marked and easily navigable even with a big caravan (we camp with a Jurgens Classique). The staff, i.e. reception, shop, restaurant and kids entertainment were all very friendly and accommodating which even included a move to another stand as the initial stand booked were a bit misleading on the photos on their website but this too was undertaken to be updated. The ablution in the B-block camp sites were of top quality, always clean (in fact I never saw it once not having a cleaner busy when I stepped into there), always hot water regardless load shedding, the resort has ample water stored so this was never an issue. Excellent security with manned gates to the semi-private beach within walking distance from your stand and strict times for opening and closing and visible access control with branded coloured rubber band so nobody not belonging there can just access the resort, local CPF and Security firms drove through the resort daily and SAPS was also stationed some nights in their own room close to the main entrance. The shop supplied the basics but the restaurant food and portions was worth the money, bigger chain shops e.g. Spar is just a couple of minutes away and there are a lot in and around the resort to keep everyone entertained. Costs for stand whom included 6 people was acceptable and extra cost for Granny (as the 7th) was also manageable. We will definitely visit again!
10 January 2023 Jodi - Gauteng Type of Resort: Family with children
We were camping out of season so the ablutions was clean and always available.

09 October 2022 Fielafooi - KwaZulu-Natal Type of Resort: Family with children
We camped here on stand A53 from August to October on the monthly Pensioners package. Good value for money based on the following: Beautiful place encircled with trees and scrubs that provide wonderful protection against strong S-SW and N-NE winds. Some stands better protected than others. However its still important to place adequate storms straps and the like especially this time of year.
There is 24 hour a security guard at the gate and entry is controlled by pass-out ticket. We saw security patrols in the resort as well. A proper security fence is installed around the property accept the river front.
Access to the resort is a tar road with the usual pothole here and there.
Roads inside the resort are well maintained tar and paved roads.
Stands differ in size but overall big enough for caravan with tents without intruding on neighbours. There are a few fully paved stands and we were using one such stand. The drainage are fairly well organized but the better option would've been the approximate 8x8 meter paving stand elevated at about 10cm above ground level as we still experienced water running underneath the tent when it's raining. Most stands are fairly level, covered with grass and others with sand patches. Trees are well pruned and provide adequate shade at most stands. Some don't have much shade but the resort have a great addition on their website where you can view a photo and size of the site you wish to book.
Electric points and water taps are easy accessible. Clean drinkable water was always available.
There is no fixed braais and we used our own.
All personnel are very friendly and helpful. We would like to mention in particular Evette and Karla at reception and Frans at maintenance. These people made our stay so much more memorable.
We never experienced any noise like loud music.
Water pressure are good and availability of hot water is constant even during loadshedding episodes and weekends.
No backup generator serve our stand during power outages.
There was only one ablution facility available during our stay which have showers, basins and toilets as well as two baths at the ladies and one at the males. Provision is made in all facilities for physical disabled people.
There's also space to wash dishes. All these facilities are kept clean on a daily basis.
One Porta Pot station is available to empty cartridges, but was quite far from our stand.
There are no washing machines nor tumble dryers available for use by campers. A laundry service is available that charge washing and drying per kilogram on site.
Swimming pools and kiddies play area are clean and well maintained.
Vervet monkeys are daily visitors and sometimes twice, morning and late afternoon. However to prevent damage, all food, especially fruit, must always be locked away.
Cell phone and mobile data (wifi) from MTN and Vodacom reception were fairly well at our stand. The resort offer free wifi near the ablution and in the area we camped, but their signal was mostly down because of technical issues.
We enjoyed staying here and will definitely return if we visit KZN south coast again.
30 June 2022 Sesh - KwaZulu-Natal Type of Resort: Family with children
We stayed at TO Strand Resort from 16 - 19 June 2022. The resort and ablutions were clean and maintained. Security from main beach was not very good, with gate being fully open during daylight hours without any access control or security checks. The ablutions had limited to no hot water for the first 2 nights of our stay and geyser was only repaired on the last night of our stay, this was terrible considering it was a long weekend, and with temperatures dropping to 5 degrees at night, not having hot showers was torture.
There was a massive church function happening on the far end of the park, but the TO Strand staff managed the event well and it didn’t impact on our camping experience.
On the whole (apart from showers and security) the stay was good.
