Xaxaza Caravan Park

This campsite is nowhere near the sea. It is just one big permanent long stay village. My wife booked it based on their "glowing" adverts. We paid a R1300 deposit for a site with its own private bathroom. It was arranged that the key would be inside the bathroom. We arrived at 4:30pm. The reception was closed. When we eventually found the allocated site after hearing ome residents close by say they needed to get more "brandewyn" we decided to leave as the site was in a cold and dark corner and the private bathroom door with a disused large broken plastic pipe left lying on the ground outside the door was locked. It was supposed to be open with the key inside. The whole place is overpriced, unkempt and rather dingy and smelly. We left Xaxaza and went 6km further to the Ezemvelo Mtunzini campsites which are in absolutely beautiful surroundings and a 5 minute walk from the beach and the Lagoon and forest walks. A totally wonderfuland pleasant experience. We will never stay at or recommend Xaxaza. It is a dark and totally un-attractive long stay tent and bungalo village and should not be classified as a tourist campsite.

Staff very friendly a good clean safe camping spot. We had private ablutions and the little kitchenette is an added bonus. The well grassed sites are nicely leveled . The concession card to the Ezimvelo reserve and lagoon is a must for visitors. This saves money and time . Thanks to the resort owners and staff for a lovely stay.

Easy accessable from main rooads. Cuper clean ablutions Staff very friendly and helpfull. close to a SPAR,tackle shop. All stand have got green grass and is big . main attraction the reseve and fishing in estuary and in the surf. Close enough to Richards bay or Empangeni should you need something you can not fins at SPAR. Sundowner forest lodge has got a nice restaurant. This was my second time visiting Xaxaza and Security and atmosphere is great and I will return again and again.
