The World Camping Day 2026 South Africa Report showcases how camping enthusiasts from across the country came together to celebrate their shared passion for the outdoors. Compiled by René Stroebel on behalf of the Caravan Club of Southern Africa (CCSA), the report highlights celebrations held by individual camping clubs and regional Caravan Club branches throughout June 2026.
From traditional South African braais and campfire gatherings to nature walks, beach outings, themed rallies, potjiekos competitions, and family-friendly activities, the report captures the spirit of camping, friendship, and community that defines World Camping Day. Clubs from Gauteng, the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Vaal Triangle, Easterns Region, and other parts of the country shared their unique celebrations and memorable experiences.
More than a record of events, this report demonstrates how camping brings people together, strengthens friendships, and encourages appreciation for South Africa's beautiful natural landscapes. It celebrates the passion and dedication of camping clubs and volunteers who continue to grow the camping lifestyle while promoting outdoor recreation for future generations.
