The Laager 21 family gathered at Ganzekraal from 24–26 July 2026, where nature treated everyone to summer‑like weather in the middle of winter. With blue skies, priceless sea views, and the soothing sound of waves, the weekend was nothing short of magical.

Highlights included:

• 🎩 Saturday Race Day – Members embraced the theme with fancy hats for the ladies and ties for the gents. The stands were filled with cheering as everyone picked “their horse,” and a few lucky winners walked away with pockets full of R5 coins and big smiles.

• 🔥 Community Braai & Fellowship – After the races, everyone gathered for a braai with salads, followed by stories and laughter around the fire until winter reminded us of its chill.

• 🙌 Special Thanks – To all who brought energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to the weekend, making Ganzekraal truly memorable.

The indaba minutes recorded attendance, welcomed visitors, and noted the host families — the Jurgens and Smiths. Members were reminded to prepare for the upcoming Birthday Outspan at AltydWater (21–23 August 2026), which will feature a “Back‑to‑School Interhouse Sports Day,” complete with teams, tuckshop food, and a main meal prepared by Michael.

Traditions continued with the awarding of the Marty Trophy to Don for organizing wood and hoisting the flag, and the Wooden Spoon to Joan for her late arrival and early departure. Fines were handed out with humor, ensuring charity proceeds and plenty of laughs.

With birthdays celebrated, tips shared, and upcoming outspans announced (Die Hut, Goudini, DHM, and Millers for Christmas), the Ganzekraal weekend captured the spirit of Laager 21 — camping, community, and unforgettable memories.
