Langebaan terug Pretoria toe - watter roete
Hello kampers
Of moet ons eerder Tows Rivier, Lainsburg, drie Susters, Coleseberg terug.
Hennie
Hennie going North there is no direct tar road route.
At various points you would have to go inland to reach the N7.
The last (most Northern one) is at Graafwater where you must go towards Clanwilliam, to get onto the N7.
I did almost that route in January, except we stayed over at Lambertsbay to see the Australasian Gannets. So just before Leipoldtville we turned left, whereas you can turn right and then left to Graafwater. We continued North past vanRhynsdorp to Springbok. I cannot comment on the roads after that.
The roads were fine.
Ek sou jou eerste keuse doen.
We went the following route.
- Langebaan (Leentjiesklip)
- Velddrif (Kliphoek)
- N7 (Kardoesie)
- Nieuwoudtville (Groenrivier)
- Calvinia (Klipwerf)
- Britstown (Kambro)
- Modderivier (Riverside)
- Bloemfontein (River of Joy or alternatively Reynecke Park)
- Parys (Weltevrede)
- Pretoria
We did this route over two months as we have plenty of time on our hands, you could do it in much shorter time and skip some of the stop-overs. I generally don‘t do more than 400 km per day.
Goeie teer oppervlaktes sonder potholes.

Ek hou van Brian se roete. Slaap dalk oor by Letsatsi op Van Rhynsdporp, pragtig luuks. Kambro altyd n wenner.
Hennie,
1] as jy rerig wil gaann kyk na Orania, ry van Hopetown se kant soheentoe. Veiliger slaapplek is by Sandgat op 'n plaas, langs Oranje.

Danie, we have overnighted at the Vanrynsdorp Caravan Park, was in 2013 but did not know about Letsatsi. Looks very nice on their website, have added it to my list for future reference.
Brian, NEVER miss Letsatsi.
I will be travelling to the Kruger next year from the Strand. Will go that way and then to Carnarvon Voortrekker Park. I believe that is also very nice. Then to Riverside (south of Kimberley) and then Wawiel Camp. Nice short days.

Didn't know that they had caravan stands.

Danie, where in Carnavon is the Voortrekker Park ?
I think I may have found it, adjacent to the Carnavon Hospital.
It does not show up on google maps but iOverlander does show the location. If anyone has more info on the campsite, website or photos would also be nice, please share.
