Ok we have been at the Fountains Resort in Pretoria for the last two weeks getting things organised. Registering the new van, changing address details for the Pathy, applying for pasport renewals, packing the van etc.

So off to De Rust tomorrow probably for a week then down to Ruby River Lodge in the Graskop Valley we will decide how long to stay once we get there, from there up on to Naboomspruit area.

Just slowly working our way north to where it's warmer

Brian, I still wanted to come and have a look but missed the opportunity.  Now the hope is to meet you at a camp some tine.

On my way to De Rust this coming weekend. Did you enjoy your stay there at De Rust?

Phoned De Rust just before we left and unfortunately we could not go there as the resort needed to be cleaned up and only one worker had arrived.

The last 1.9 km is gravel road some parts were just recently scraped and in very good condition and some were rather corrugated but not too bad. The caravan park as the name suggests is on a farm within the Dinokeng nature reserve. The site is fenced off from the reserve, the big 5 are within the reserve , however as the various farms/lodges are privately owned and driving within the reserve is not open as such. You can apparently go on game drives organized by the various private farms/lodges, which is a bit of a disappointment. In parts the farm fence is close enough and should the game come past you are able to view them. The park itself has some grassed sites and some that are not too well grassed, lots of trees for shade and electrical points for each site. Water points are adequately placed. Ablutions are good as per their website and very clean, currently we are the only ones in the park however there is a club moving in on the weekend. The wash-up facilities definitely require some upgrading and there are not suffecient to cope should the park fill up.

Hey Leon we are actually driving across to de Rust to see it if they won't change their mind and let us in if they do we will probably see you there on the weekend 

Anyone been here recently. I'm on my way there next week. Hope the gravel road has been scraped. 

Looking forward to going to the bush veld again. Hopefully we get to see some game in the reserve.
