Who has seen Chinese caravans, and comments. Not just perceptions without knowledge.

With cars there was a lot of comments years ago, now they sell a number which not to much negative comments

I cannot comment regarding Chinese caravans as I have not yet seen one close up or have done any research regarding them. It would be disrespectful to bad mouth them simply because they are associated with China.

What I can say about Chinese products is that you get pretty poor quality, as well as pretty great quality. What differentiates the two is what you are prepared to pay for an item. Although I do not drive a Chinese branded car, I did spend some time at a few dealerships and found that they have decent offerings at competitive prices.

Regarding the caravans, could you perhaps name a few brands that I can have a look at online as it should be interesting to explore.

Can't refer to specific brands, but are also browsing the internet. Not sure if they have sold any local, but see they have exported to Australia.

Will post feedback once I can find material and other technical details

I have spent a few minutes trying to find Chinese caravans or importers in South Africa. Even my clever AI chatbot cannot help. Everything refers to Australia. Somewhere in the back of my mind I do recall seeing images of a Chinese caravan, but for the life of me I cannot recall where that was. I will continue to do a little research and if I bump into anything, I will reply here.

A concern that I would have regarding a Chinese van would be the aftermarket support and accessories offered due to the fact that there is so little information on the topic.

There is quite a bit on Alibaba.

When importing like this, you do your homework and get pricing for all spares that might be required in future, and bring enough spares in. Spare are normally dirt cheap with equipment, rather than after market spares

Does anyone know what happened to that American (company) that was going to build caravans in Eswatini?  He (the man) supposedly had an agent in Witbank.  The fellow made lots of promises.  They even had a ridiculous looking van  as their first attempt.   At the time I googled his history in the USA and there were a number of anomalies including unpaid debts, etc.
