Here’s one for the record books.

During our recent “Tour around the country” Grading trip, we stopped at Eastco Magalies, on appointment, to do the Grading Assessment on the resort.  On arrival, Louise, the resort manager, told us that The Motorhome Club will be rallying there this coming weekend. We were due to depart on Friday morning.

Ons het die nuwe jaar baie goed afgeskop met ons eerste kamp van die jaar by Daggaboer.  Dit lyk of daar nuwe geesdrif in die kampers is.  Collie en Hannatjie was die touleiers en het hulle soos gewoonlik uitstekend van hul taak gekwyt.  Baie dankie vir al julle moeite.

‘n Paar van ons lede was Vrydagmiddag vroeg op Daggaboer, maar ons ouens wat vir ‘n baas werk, het later die middag almal gelyk daar aangekom.  Sundowner was van so ‘n aard dat die vleis wat gebraai sou word, maar gebly het.  Tina en Lynette het die naweek verjaar en ons verras met lekker eetgoed en sjampanje.

The driver, that’s you, of the tow vehicle has the responsibility for the safe operation of the caravan you are towing, and you need to carry out the following checks:

• Is the caravan load correctly distributed i.e. not too much or too little nose weight? Heavier items, tent etc. to be placed over the axle of the caravan.

• Is the load within the caravan’s official GVM. (Gross Vehicle Mass)? I.e. not overloaded. To check the Gross Vehicle Mass, the GVM is stamped on the tag on the tow hitch of the caravan.
