On the Road Again – Relocated to Leentjiesklip 2025
We moved from Van Zyls Rus in Kuilsrivier to Leentjiesklip at Langebaan today.
Nice short ride and the car behaved itself and pulled well after the turbo hassles we had.
Weather is great sight breeze, nice and cool.
Looking forward to going into the West Coast Reserve while we are here.

You look sorted for the wind, we of to kruger next week for 6 months.
Oh yes when ever we erect the rally we always put the net and storm strap. I you have the necessary equipment to prevent wind damage we use it, too late to do it after the wind has destroyed it all.
Enjoy your 6 month trip to the KNP. I need to make a plan to go back there again sometime.
For the windy winter time, for safety and ambience, I would prefer the Yserfontein camp, n few kilos south of Lienkiesklip. We camped several times at both.
Eish the time is coming closer for us to do this permanent camping. Can't wait! ! ! ! ! !
Enjoy your stay there.
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !

Lyk heerlik daar Brian....geniet dit
Kampeer is aansteeklik en verslawend ðŸ˜
Brian, how do you find the exit from Van Zyl's onto to main road (Bottelary road) with the long rig of yours.

Hennie, I turn sharp left onto Bottelary Road and nothing scrapes on exit. The entry however entering is a little more challenging and usually scrape a little. First time going in a few years ago I lost one of the pads on one steady on entry, however I seem to have mastered it better over the years.
The more you do something the better you get at it :) We always enter and exit from and too Brackenfell Boulevard side.

Was just wondering. I live about 900m from there. The owner of Van Zyl's have 4 houses in our Crescent, that she is renting out.

I recall John‘s father Tobie had a holiday home at Jongensfontein as well. Wonder if they retained it after Tobie‘s passing.
Never got to speak to John this last, visit he seemed to be pretty busy.
Dis darem maar 'n mooi wa daai
Getting quite cold here at night, really appreciating the heating system in the van when we wake early morning.
Still walking around in shorts and t shirt day and night here at Marloth........ have the aircon on as we speak/type.
Heading north in about 2 weeks time – just need to fix a shock on the van first.

My one neighbor and the Van Zyl's are good friends and indicated that she recently (2 weeks ago) went with them to Jongensfontein. I do believe then, that they still have the property there.
We had the Trekkers Laager 21 rally here this weekend. Mass exodus this morning so we get our sea view back again :) We move on Thursday starting our Great North Trek to Eiland, via the east coast then inland. We have some 12 stops along the way most 1, 2 or 3 nights nights and a couple a bit longer.
Also a lot quieter here after the weekend campers have left.
However, every weekend there is a non stop humdrum from the Swellendam township.
Are you passing by this way Brian?

Hi Richard, yes we are however not intending stopping in Swellendam. From Cape Town our next stop would be Mossel Bay.
Chris Boucher, also on this Forum, is currently in KNP but will be relocating to ATKV Eiland from the 3rd June to 3rd August.
