Should I have any security concerns in Morgan’s bay caravan park? The security is non existent, anyone can drive through the park, but I haven’t heard any incidents.I am planning a Sunday to Friday outing at the end of July.I have only camped there over weekends with other weekend  campers,( safety in numbers)

My concern is mid week isolation or am I just chickening ?

If I read the customer feedback, you need to sleep with one eye open. An average of 2/5 is not very good. I wound feel safe in a park that has no security and free access to everyone from the outside. Maybe things has changed since last feedback?

Ons het al vir n week daar gekamp... 2014....  sonder dat ons bang gevoel het, maar ek stem saam dat die oord te maklik toeganklik is. 

Ons sal nietemin enige tyd weer daar gaan kamp. Baie lekker kampplek.

Stayed there for five nights January last year. No problems at all. Will happily stay there again. Lovely camp.

Ons is "buiteseisoen kampers" en ons bly maar weg van oorde waar daar min mense is of waar ons afgesonderd is. Dit is net nie meer veilig nie.

Ons was buite seisoen en gedurende die week daar. Daar was heelwat mense  - gladnie afgesonderd gevoel nie. Ek is ook maar Bang Jan...

Ons was een aand heeltemal alleen by Mountain View in Harrismith op pad Natal toe. Was die hele nag onrustig. Dit is net te gevaarlik. 

Het die vyfdag Strandloper roete vanaf die Kei na Gonubie gestap en een nag in Morgans Bay oornag in die hikers hut. Pragtige kampplek met heerlike geriewe. Maar ook gewonder oor veiligheid. Geen amptenare daar gesien nie

Have just been to Morgan Bay and had traumatic experience 

of robbers visiting us at 1:30am Tuesday morning 09/07. The guard on duty was 

taken off by management citing it was a "quite" time in the park . I bought i cheap motion detector last year at a Chinese shop and have never felt the need to use it (have been on the road for 16 months) Because we felt very vunrable in the park i set the detector on Monday night and also googled Kei Mouth police station phone no and saved it.  The robbers got into my car and tried to steal the battery . At the same time they unzipped the full tent attached to my Skipper trailer. The alarm sounded immediately and they left in a flash. I stayed in the tent and phoned the cops immediately and they were on the scene

appr. 10 mins later. We packed up at 2.00am and left early the next morning to a safer camp. We two pensioners and i hate to think what would have happened if we were not fore warned.

There are many ways to access the park besides the lagoon & the gate and it’s impossible to fence it. About 4years ago, A colleague of mine had his cellphone stolen underneath his pillow while he was sleeping in the tent .

Did you inform the resort management of your experience?

Ons beplan om Maart 26 vir 'n maand daar te kamp en die reviews en terugvoer is slegs 2019 as nuutste?

Lyk baie mooi oord, maar ek wil ook nie alleen daar staan nie. 

Would also like to hear recent reviews as we are considering stopping there on our return route from Hartenbos next year.
