Camping in or near Cape Town
Are there any camping spots close to Seapoint? I can only find “Ou Skip” in Melkbos

Paul
Seapoint is a high density city area so camping near there is out. Try Van Zylsrus, Hardekraaltjie or Imhof. All a bit far from Seapoint.
Thanks Fred. I didn't know that Hardekraaltjie is still there as I camped there with my folks when I was a kid. That is a long time ago. However, it seems from Google that there are some legal issues around the camp and might have been (temporarily) closed.
The reason I'm looking for a site near Seapoint is that my son stays there and has no room for a camper. The idea is to park the camper somewhere and Uber to his place.
Hardekraaltjie as far as I know is still operational. There was a few permanent campers there last time we camped there. All have been removed and long term campers not allowed there any more.
Yes it is next to Voortrekker mian road but that road is quiet around 20h00 every night. Not much trafic then. What is nice about Hardekraaltjie is the location. Located central to Cape Town in general driving out to various destinations is easy with the N1 highway about 1,6 km away.
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !
Leon I agree with your comments. I will send a scout there to asses before we arrive. It is definitely the more convenient placed camping spot in CT
According to yesterday's Burger newspaper the facility is closing down to make room for parking.
