We are thinking of going to KwaZulu-Natal in January and staying 7 nights at Rocky Bay. Unfortunately the  last topic in the forum was in 2015 .It would be  appreciated if one or more of you good forum users  can  give us more resent feedback  Thank you in anticipation    

Vriende van ons gaan elke jaar Julie soontoe...dis hul gunsteling see plekkie. Ons het laas Desember by vriende daar gekuier...sekere staanplekke het vir my beknopt voorgekom, maar oulike oord oor die algemeen. Dink jy kan met n geruste hart gaan.

Thays still my favorite place to camp was last there in April this year, Got married on their beech front.

Shopping only 15km away just outside town, with a PnP, food lovers market just to name a few.

Full security fence plus gaurds walking around, just that blady guy selling samosers keep stoping there to chat, his a mence.

We go there twice a year thats our special place to camp.

If you lucky then you just 5m from the beech, lol

But the wind can nail you if it comes from the SW.

We camp each year at Scottburgh just up the beach from Rocky Bay. Had a look at Rocky Bay this June just to see what it looks like. We found the camp very neat and well -located on the beach (thats a must for us as we want hear the breakres at night!). Security was visible and their shop looks well-stocked (and a nice restaurant just up the road from their entrance. We did however find the stands to be a bit small and cramped, we saw many vans almost on top of each other...so we opted to rather go to Scottburgh again next year as I would not want to hear my neighbour after he had a meal with lotsa beans :)

Funny that Hurricane, i find it exactly opposite, looked at Scottborough in season and found sites to close to each other so opt for Rocky Bay. The camp site is so huge there is a lot of choice. Bazely is our next choice after Rocky bay and if you have kids between 1 and 16 the place to go in season as they have entertainment sports etc for them.

Many (most?) Scotties stands are rather large. Exception is those up on the hill and a few along the raod near the entrance but we steer clear of those on the hill because of wind and those near the entrance because of traffic. Guess its each to his own.
